In the grand scheme of things, he honestly hadn’t known what to expect.[break][break]

Was it in regards to what to expect from the simulation itself? To being whisked away to test the simulation out on a whim— and by someone he’d only known as an acquaintance at best? The answer to both of those questions was a simple yes, but ultimately, he’d already buckled himself in for the ride.[break][break]

So, when the images before him manifested within their digitized(?) forms, he peered around for a few moments, taking the surroundings in before eying the clutter strewn out before him. With faintly furrowed brows of wariness, interest, and confusion all the same, he passed his fellow Rocket a glance over his shoulder before nodding towards the workshop tables and beginning to walk over.[break][break]

”...You were the one that dragged me here, cuz,” he started off, beginning to smooth his fingers across the materials on the nearest desk, ”so you tell me. Whaddaya make of all this? What should we do?”

maybe he's made a mistake. [break][break]

he'll admit, maybe grabbing the first person he recognized in a crowd to test out this simulation wasn't the best idea. he'll admit, maybe the idea of thrusting himself into the middle of technology was even a worse idea (what, with his butterfingers probably running the risk of dropping anything and everything remotely tech-y). [break][break]

diego glances at the piece of familiar, foreign technology on the table, though he's reluctant to pick it up, he has to, holding it at the.. handle looking thing? carefully, trying to flip it open and examine to see if the screen turns on. it doesn't. [break][break]

".. i guess try and fix this?" he's clueless when making the suggestion, but it's not like there's anything else of interest in here. perhaps it's intended, to keep them from straying too far or getting too distracted. [break][break]

Circumstances aside, at least it seemed and sounded like they were on the same wavelength.[break][break]

With his question answered, the Rocket inhaled for a moment before sighing out similarly, nodding while hues of emerald found their ways towards the table once more. His hand partook of a deftness as it glided upon the surface for a spell, tracing around the gadgets but unformed and otherwise before picking several pieces within his fingers.[break][break]

He examined them for a moment before searching for any and all tools scattered across the desktop, picking them up and setting them aside accordingly while starting to piece whatever he could together.[break][break]

”A’ight, then. Let’s see, here… Gimmie a hand. Hand me a couple of those things over there.”

he turns, slightly, to take a look at the table and at.. all of the things thrown around the workshop. the hell did he mean the things over there? there were too many things over there that he has to squint to get an idea of what he means. there are.. doodads? wires? tools? [break][break]

he walks over to take a better look at the materials, and has to squint slightly while carefully picking up... pretty much everything. when in doubt, grab everything, because something in the pile is bound to be the thing they're looking for, right? [break][break]

so with a handful of objects, electrical doodads, chips and wires, he carefully ambles back to his partner, here, tinkering with the pokegear. [break][break]

"is this good?" diego asks, dropping the tools on the space next to the working rocket.

It was easy to tell what would be built from the parts from a mile away, but even then, there was always a sense of anticipation that dwelled within him at the point of an object’s completion. A low hum escaped him with each part passed to him, and with each screw twisted into place Before long, he palmed the form of a familiar looking communications device before turning it within his grasp.[break][break]

He pressed the transmission, listening to the message played for them while scrunching his face slightly.[break][break]

”Mmmmkay. Cryptid as fuck, but a’ight, I guess.”[break][break]

He sighed and eyed the device for a little while longer before pocketing it, watching as the space around them rapidly begin to morph and change once more in the process. With a degree of patience and intrigue, he watched as the walls formed around them.[break][break]

Then came everything else.[break]
He stared at it all before slowly beginning to walk through, furrowing his brows while directing a gaze earthbound to weave around the masses of plushies and blocks around them.[break][break]

”...Find the Ditto, huh…?” he murmured aloud, taking a quick look at the prompts before beginning to look over his shoulder. ”Whaddaya think we should—”[break][break]

honestly, he doesn't much understand all the tech stuff. [break][break]

it all looks the same to him, so he'll leave it to his partner over here. maybe it was better this way, especially because he would have thrown that cursed pokegear the second he heard the cryptic message. call him jumpy or call him paranoid, either option would be the right one. [break][break]

before he can make a follow-up comment, their surroundings shift and he's left grunting in distaste and discomfort. when the walls finally form, he's put in.. a child's playpen? he hasn't been in this sort of place since he was with his siblings. as his partner was walking around and taking in their surroundings, diego casually kicks one of the substitute plushies. [break][break]

... and honestly, he doesn't know what was going through his mind. [break][break]

it's just that the dolls looked so.. kickable. he can't be blamed, right? it's not his fault they were so plush. so the man does what he does best; grab one of the squeaky hammers that's pleasantly placed on the ground to start bonking at absolutely. everything. [break][break]

he only stops to glance to the man at the plaque, tilting his head.[break][break]
